THE NEW KINGS OF NIGERIA
The story of Walter, descendent of the great King JaJa of Opobo, who returns home, to find out what it means to be a king in modern Nigeria. Educated in the boarding schools of England, he now finds himself immersed in the world of Nigerian reality TV. The film follows Walter's journey, as he comes to terms with life amongst the new breed of the Lagos elite, pretender's to his crown, and the impoverished underclass he had previously ignored; these the people he will eventually call his own. Is Walter finally coming home? The film is a feature length documentary commissioned by BBC Storyville, Directed by Elizabeth Stopford.
