When we were together, it was easier to just enjoy the silence and the happiness of the moment. I need not recall every detail of how we were brought together, except that we suffered for all those late nights and communication mishaps. It seemed an impossibility, given our differences and circumstances. Looking back now it's as if I whispered to the wind... and there you were. I have to admit, I wasn't ready to take you seriously.You seemed so candid and "distracted." I didn't give a thought to our first emails, and just typed away, hoping to bore you about how harassed a mom I was and how work was killing me. I dare not tell you about "my other life," the public one, for some reason. I didn't expect the friendship with you to go any further, or for you to move mountains to see me and be with me, much less have the resourcefulness to, ugh, find me on Google. I guess life deals us with miracles and blessings every day. Each day that I am able to find you, and we are able to keep in touch, is a gift.Each morning that I wake up and I am able to summon images of you and our moments together, is a reason for thanksgiving.
